ABOUT ME
My Story
My career is a big part of my identity. I have been working in college football for almost 20 years. Prior to my current role as the Offensive Coordinator at Great Oak High School, I worked for 3 different head coaches at UCLA most recently as the Director of Recruiting Operations and the Director of Football Operations before that. Prior to UCLA, I spent eight years in Portland, OR: one year in a classroom and on the field at Rex Putnam High School, and was the Offensive Coordinator at Lewis & Clark College prior to that. UNLV was another place where I had the opportunity to work for two different head coaches over a span of 6 seasons. I started my career at Santa Barbara City College and Cal State Northridge, before making the move to Las Vegas.

My son is my everything. He is in middle school and is enrolled in the GATE program there. His three favorite movies are Hidden Figures, A League of Their Own, and the Pitch Perfect series. He from a young age has been an advocate for civil rights and feminism, and he loves the idea of overcoming obstacles. He and I are a lot alike. He loves playing sports and gets involved with as many activities as he is allowed to, which is a lot...

This ePortfolio is a product of the Master's program I am in at Lamar University. I am working towards a Masters of Education in Digital Learning and Leading. This is crazy to think about for me, but this is my 4th time starting a grad program, and I have yet to finish one. The 1st time, I got one semester in and moved to Las Vegas to pursue a job in Division I football. The 2nd, I was 6 units away, just a final project away from finishing, but I moved to Portland to be an Offensive Coordinator. By the time I settled down, and was ready to finish, the school had dropped the major. My 3rd stint ended after one year, exactly half-way through the program. At that time, UCLA called up and said there was a job for me, and I could not say no. Fortunately, my reasons for dropping out of the graduate schools were always promotions or advancements in my career, but earning my Master's is important to me.

This is my first time taking an entirely online program, but I am confident this will be the one I finish. The Digital Learning and Leading program and degree will enhance my ability to connect with the people I work with, both students and staff. My goal is to stay in football as long as I can, while being the best role model I can be for my son, for as long as I can. Everyone has obstacles to overcome. I am going to take every measure possible to to keep pursuing my career and my son's happiness, and this degree will be a big part of my toolbox.
