My Eyes Hurt
I am having a hard time coming up with an original thought for my discussion board post about the benefits of having an ePortfolio. We have very smart and eloquent people in this class, and I feel like I don't have that much to contribute after reading some of the posts. A lot of the posts look the same, and I am not one to repeat. I don't even like to sing the same karaoke song twice it the same venue!
I am having an even more difficult time just reading through all the posts... It gets so mundane seeing the same thing over and over again: the Discussion Board look, the font, the gray and white, the repetitive content. I agree with you here. This is interesting. What a great idea. I suppose this will continue to be the struggle of a web-based program.
I wonder if these classes and lessons eventually evolve into a way that this board becomes an actual discussion instead of a list of answers and agreements. I do appreciate having the weekly webinars and getting to see peoples' faces and having a real back and forth discussion, but the discussion boards are becoming difficult for me.
Is this all a teaching moment as described in the Barnstable article where some of the the benefits of the educator doing an ePortfolio are that:
-They will understand the important aspect of the process fully and see that the process is just as important as the product.
-They will be able to empathize with students as they create, find or request their own evidence.
And maybe I'm just irritable from reading so much... It happens =)
